That should be an option for those that wish it. But if you are without internet you can't play? Hmm.Ģ - It's a multiplayer online game, you merely have the option to play by yourself.ģ - If stuff is stored client side, it can be manipulated and that when cheating happen, it's infinitely safer to store everything server side.Ĥ - let's just assume for a moment that it's impossible to cheat on PS4, which I highly doubt, are you really suggesting that the devs make 1 of the 2 versions of the game handle data completely differently, in a way that makes it less safe for no good reason? Not to mention that would mess with the balance patches if you could just stay in versions of the game that are massively broken. but that's too big a sacrifice.Įspecially in a console environment, isn't the whole point to play offline couch coop with friends? That's what I did with DD1 because it was a fun game to play. I get that they want to be able to create a fair gaming experience for everyone. I really do no get the whole "online-only" trend. What happens when servers go offline? People payed for a game they should be able to run it offline in case servers disappear.
